3D World – Sculpting the female form

March 19th, 2009

From 3D World comes this fantastic tutorial on how to sculpt the female form. A must see if you are wanting to improve on anatomy with a classic flare.

tdw105cover

“In this mammoth ten-page cover tutorial, which originally appeared in issue 105, ZBrush master Scott Eaton explores how to sculpt an anatomically correct female figure, starting from a lo-res blockmesh, and gradually refining the details of the body.

You can download the PDF of the tutorial below, along with full-sized screenshots of key steps, and Scott‘s original ZTL files.

The tutorial is accompanied by screen-capture video showing the entire sculpting process in more detail. Note that this is intended only as a workflow video, and does not have an audio commentary.”

Looking for a zbrush writer/contributor

February 11th, 2009

Just looking for another writer to help me post articles discussing zbrush. If you are interested please either leave a comment or send me an email via the contact form. This wouldn’t be more than once a week for the moment I think, and it would be nice to include some media types in your posts. Cheers!

Maya to Zbrush Pipeline part 1

January 5th, 2009

Happy 2009 zbrushers! Well, it’s been a while since I’ve posted! The holidays and work really got me busy during December so I was extremelly busy. At work, we launch new products, updated old ones and refined more of our marketing strategy online which is a great step forward IMHO. For the holidays, my GF and I spent a lot of our time traveling around going to our families Christmas dinners and celebrations. It was fanstastic time, hectic yes, but loads of fun. I’m pretty sure I put on about 10 pounds from all the food and drinking.

So this year I’m planning a few things for izbrush.com. The main thing is a site redesign.  This word press theme I’m using right now is really static and doesn’t allow the widget usage I’am looking for. So, I’m just going to be refining things a bit. Nothing to drastic I think. I’m also going to be doing more of a marketing push with this in order to get more market share/value.  So I’ll be looking for related sites to do some cross promoting.

Finally, I’m going to be doing more zbrushing for myself! Just gonna play around some more, and shoot for one completed model a month. Of course updating izbrush.com once a week will take a priority as well.  So moving on, here is the first video of 2009 for izbrush.com! Enjoy!

Zbrush interview with Mauro Patrizi

December 9th, 2008

Really great interview with talented artist Mauro Patrizi over in zbrush central!

“Today we have the pleasure of interviewing Mauro Patrizi (known here at ZBC as P^T). Not only is he a talented artist in his own right, but he has also been the number one contributor to what is now the MatCap Library. This obviously made him someone who makes use of ZBrush in all its aspects, and we were excited to learn more. And what better timing than the same week that the Library launched? Enjoy!”
