Placing and Combining Sub-tools in ZBrush!

Since the release of ZBrush 3, I have really struggled in understanding how to place Sub-tools in ZBrush. That means, placing things like eyes (as seperate geometry), or teeth, or earings, you know. That kind of stuff. So now I found this great little video that give a pretty good explination on how to to just that! No more eyeless….faces!! Fricken sweet.

The creation of the Krommath! Very cool progress explanation of this massive and uber cool undertaking by Gentle Giants Studios. I don’t know what a Krommath is….but man it looks damn cool. I want one!

ZBrush used in Pirates of the Caribbean

As many of you know, or may not now, ZBRush was used quit a bit on the movie series Pirates of the Caribbean. I think this was a big brand awareness forward for ZBrush and it started getting more mainstream attention across multiple industries. At least, that’s what it appears to have done. Anyways, here is a pretty sweet video just showing some scenes  of the movie.  Enjoy!

To start off this new section, I have carefully choosen Ubisoft!!!! So the talented and nifty folks over in Ubisoft (Rainbow Six, Assasins Creed) are using ZBrush in some of their projects. This little video pimps out their accomplishments in style! Some fantastic work here!

So after digging around a bit, I have been finding articles, videos, testimonials of companies and digital artists praising ZBrush. I thought this would be a good category to show who in industry is using ZBrush, and offer some insight onto how they use it. Mostly also to show what a valuable tool ZBrush can be if you’re just starting out, or are an experienced developer.
